Who We Are
Our Story
Adam and Susie are teachers, Senior Leaders, parents of two children, and now business partners.
We have both worked in Education for over 15 years and are dedicated to serving local communities.
As parents ourselves, we dreamed of a nursery that offered the very best in early education alongside warm, family-style childcare—somewhere that truly reflected the standards we wanted for our own children.

That vision led us to create Gemstones Education Ltd, an umbrella for our work in early years education. Gemstones Education brings together three key projects:

Hillside Gems Nurseries – our teacher-led early years settings
Start-School-Ready – providing free resources and support to help families feel confident in their child’s transition into Reception
Circle-Time Shorts – a growing series of picture books designed to support early years circle time, focusing on emotional understanding and positive behaviour

Together, these projects allow us to support children, families and educators at every stage of the early years journey.

We are passionate about shaping early education and aim to be a strong voice and advocate for high-quality, playful and child-centred learning.
